After School Clubs & Organizations:
The first obligation to students is to provide a Catholic faith-based environment that enhances learning and bolsters academic excellence. Extra-curricular activities enhance the students’ development in service, the arts, physical education, social skills, and leadership. Activities and clubs change from year to year depending on the interest of the students and the expertise of the faculty.
Our Lady of Victory is pleased to offer the following clubs for students in grades 6-8 after school during the 2010 - 2011 School Year:
Drama:
Students study theatrical techniques to enhance their acting skills as they work toward their annual spring musical stage performance.
Yearbook and Newspaper: (link)
Students work on designing the yearbook, setting the pages and meeting deadlines for submission of the yearbook. In addition, they publish the Patriot Pride (student newspaper). The students are very busy, as they handle two of our most prominent publications.
Science Olympiad:
Students prepare throughout the first half of the school year for regional, state, and national competitions in eight areas of scientific study. This is a very hands-on club, as the students must create the items for the competition based on very specific criteria.
Student Council is active throughout the year with service projects and organizing school events, including middle school dances.
The National Junior Beta Club is an organization which promotes scholarship and service for students in fifth through eighth grades.
