Since Our Lady of Victory Catholic School opened its doors, it has continued to maintain strong Catholic identity and academic excellence. With Catholic formation at its core, OLV has fulfilled Archbishop John Francis Donoghue’s dream for elementary Catholic education in the south Atlanta metro area.

In response to the overwhelming need for Catholic education in North Georgia, the Archdiocese of Atlanta opened the first elementary school on the south side of metro Atlanta below the beltway in September 1999.  Archbishop Donoghue named it Our Lady of Victory with the accompanying motto:  Fides Nostra Vicit Mundum, translated from Latin, the motto means, “Our faith conquers the world.” 

OLV is a regional school enrolling students from eleven (11) area parishes. OLV is divided into two divisions, the Lower Division, Pre-K-5th grades, and the Middle Division, 6th-8th grades. 

The school received its initial accreditation by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) in the Spring of 2002.  In February, 2007, OLV’s Pre-Kindergarten Program was successful in receiving full accreditation by SACS. Also, in February, 2007, OLV applied for accreditation by Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS), along with re-accreditation by SACS, and was successful in receiving dual accreditation by SACS and SAIS.

OLV's five-year re-accreditation with SAIS/SACS is scheduled October, 2011.

In November, 2009, OLV was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education – a “top 10 percentile school” in the Nation.

OLV is member of the following organizations:

  • Georgia Independent School Association (GISA)

  • The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM)
